Was Prey (2022) bad?

Predator: The sequels have not lived up to its predecessors. All the charm and success of the original is back in Prey, but this time it's been pared down to its bare essentials to create a more primal and horrifying experience. At times, it evokes the tone of Revenant, and the audience is never sure whether or not the protagonists will survive. Although the backdrop is fantastic, I was concerned that the movie would attempt to complicate the story too much. Prey succeeds when its predecessor, The Predator, fails. It excels in calm, peaceful environments (just prior to each attack). Dan Trachtenberg was a part in two franchises. Both have produced some of the most memorable sequels. Though he obviously knows how to make the most of the setting and deliver the goods, the movie's finest quality is its mood. As the film progresses, the setting becomes more frightening. This emotion is the main source of the film’s tense atmosphere. The (posted here) tension builds steadily until the film’s final act. The slow beginning of the movie's characters is normal because it takes time.
